[A] [N] Yes, happy Friday to you.
It's the first like a version of 2012, this big segment where
we get artists to come in, friends of Triple J, sing you an original and a cover just before
8 o'clock.
Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner gave us a cracking rendition of his original tune
Suckin' in Sea and he stuck around for us.
Hello again Alex, thanks for being here man.
Hello.
Still here.
You're going to do a cover for us?
You told us it was a strange one and this is actually
an older tune.
Tell us about Patsy Cline, what Patsy Cline means to you.
I don't know, I just can't do a lot of covers.
I just really like this tune, a lot of rare
tunes and that, just like really simple.
You've done a lot of covers before, soundchecks, I've seen interviews you do, the vines in
soundcheck, the strokes as well.
We've done, yeah, you know I was trying to work out a version of Get Free for this but
I couldn't make it happen, you know what I mean?
It's hard to cover that tune, certainly without electricity.
Well you've gone with the track Strange, we better hear it for Like A Version this morning.
The first Like A Version of [A] 2012, this is Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys playing Patsy
Cline's Strange.
Take it away Alex.
