[Am] [F] [G]
[F] Thanks for [A] having me back at EMG Pickups.
Today I want to show you this [C] guitar from
ESP which is [Am] the LTD Elite Series and it's the Eclipse One.
[G] [B] The first thing I
noticed when I picked up this guitar is the playability.
[C] I think that's got a lot
to do [Am] with the fact that it's actually a really high quality build guitar.
It's
like kind of [A] playing the Les Paul because it's [Am] 24 frets it feels a lot
more comfortable for someone [E] like me.
It's actually a mahogany neck [A] with a
rosewood fingerboard on there.
The frets are actually really tall [Am]
XJ frets which
means you can play [A] the guitar pretty easy.
This guitar just feels beautifully
intonated and it sounds really good and it's a really even action between this
part of the guitar and all the way up the top which is something that I really
look [F] for.
[D] [A] The body construction on this guitar is [C] mahogany so like the neck.
It's
a set neck construction [F] but it's also got a maple quilt top that you [Am] can see
through the paintwork on here and it's also a stained [D] see-through black.
There's
actually volume controls for each of the [Am] pickups so this first control here
actually controls the back pickup [Gb] and the neck pickup is [C] controlled by the
middle knob on the body.
[E] The tone control is the [A] last knob that you see so if
you're [C] playing out and out on the bridge pickup you can [E] roll off the neck [A] pickup
one and you can kind of go in for more [F] of a bluesy tone.
[D] [A]
That's actually quite
easy to do with the pickup [E] are in this guitar because it's a new range from EMG
which are the 57 and the 66.
[D] Basically taking everything that EMG have been
known and famous for [Am] and they seem to have [G] spliced it all into two [E] pickups
that seem to work [D] brilliantly with each other.
So it gives you [A] the attack that
you normally [C] get associated [Em] with an EMG pickup but it's also got a nice [E] rich
overtone to it as well on both of the [F] pickups that make for [A] me personally
playing like solos that's one of the most important [Fm] things is to have a
really nice [G] rich tone but something that's crisp so it can bring out
[D] different nuances in your playing.
I really like the sound of this [F] particular
[A] EMG 57 because it's just so clean [D] it just literally [G] gives me everything that
I need out of a bridge pickup especially for playing heavy [F] rhythms.
The 66 for [C] me
is just great for lead.
The sustain is really good, the tone is really creamy
and it's really nice and it's just got everything that I think [Am] I've ever looked
[G] for in a neck pickup soloing.
So for me [Am] personally and I think for
everybody that manages to sit down with this [Fm] new Elite series, guitar is going [Am] to
really benefit from trying out these pickups and they're really going to
notice the [D] difference.
[F] [C]
[F] I'd like to show [Am] you the sounds that you can get out of these
[A] pickups.
So first of all here's a clean tone with the 57 pickup.
[Gm] [Bb]
[D] [Dm] [Gm]
[Bb] [Dm]
Now I want to
show [Ab] you the clean tone [E] on the 66 just [Gm] you know clean with nothing in front
just how it sounds.
[E]
[C] [D]
Here's the 57 with a heavier rhythm [Gb] tone that generally I'd
like to use when I'm tracking rhythms [G] in a studio or I'm [A] playing live.
I just want
to demonstrate how clean this pickup sounds using heavy distortion so let's
see how that sounds.
[D]
[D]
[Eb]
[D]
[Am] Now I'm going to show you my favorite part and that's
obviously playing lead but I'm going to be using the 66 and I'm just going to
play a couple of things just so you can hear [A] you know the [Ab] definition in picking
[D] and then I'll try and play something where you can hear the sustain of the
notes as well so let's see how that sounds.
[A] [Gm]
[Dm] [A]
[B] [Am]
I've really enjoyed jamming on
this [C] guitar I think [G] ESP have [Ab] you know brought together a [G] really good
combination of you know new pickups from [Am] EMG and also the build [A] quality as this
guitar is built [C] in Japan with a lot of the ESP models [Am] as well so you've really
got to pick up [C] this guitar and see for yourself [D] how great it is and then you
won't be [F] disappointed.
