[G] They roped me back in to this, somehow.

That was scary as shitless.

I'm going to get back to [F] my roots in California and get back to basics [Gm] and try to [C] write songs that heal.
But the main ones that you [F] have to have is [D#] there and there.
[F] Sean adds something and then Beats adds [F#] something and then, you know, [G] me and Andy, we've been
playing together so long that [F#] we know each other [Fm] and we [G] know also everybody else so [F] well
that it just [G] ends up meshing great. _ _ _ _

_ The band just got way tighter.
[E] We're doing three-part harmonies, [D] barbershop style.
Chemistry's flowing.
We took an old school approach to [G] this whole record, all analog.
[G#] And it's been working.
After ten [E] years of fine-tuning this band and [F#] growing up with [G] these guys, I've felt the
[D] loss of [G#] old friends [A#] and [C] gain of new ones.
Everything [E] happens for a reason.
[E] If it wasn't for them as friends, [G] fans, and occasional [G#] lovers, I wouldn't be the person
I am today as well as having [F] the right kind of stories to tell in my [Em] work.

It's a special thing that we have a band that can [G] communicate and gel and get along like this [A] creatively.
So it's [G#] amazing.
It [E] just keeps getting better and better.
I pitched one great game [G] when I was like 13. _

These guys don't feel like they've got to go hit [F#] bars every night.
So they're out here to get work done.
And I get to [A] relax and smoke weed and cook.

Dave Schooles is awesome.
[F#] I was kind of nervous at first to work with him.
But he turned out to be an awesome bloke.
Very fortunate to have Andy and the boys let me be a part of this.
The leadership, the guidance, everything that he has.
His opinions matter.
He's, [B] you know, he is [F#] who he is.
We're all at that level where [D#m] we're finally [F#] talking as one.
This band cooks together on stage, in the kitchen.
It's really [B] collaborative.
It's really [F#] a family scene.
Great tunes.
