[C#] [A]
[G#m] [F#] I'm Drew, I play guitar and [G#m] hoops.
I'm Kevin, I play bass and I also sing.
[B] I'm [E] Keegan, I
[E] play keyboards and I sing and hoops.
[B]
[A]
[G#] We all grew up [Fm] within five miles [B] of one another.
Me and [F#m] Keegan met [G#m] in a youth group [B] at church in sixth grade.
[G#m] [C#] I met Drew, we went to high
[B] school together, we met freshman year.
In the lunch line, I remember.
I don't remember [C#] that.
Anyway, we all started hanging and playing music together.
There's not a whole lot going on in Indiana that would really inspire a whole lot of song
writing or something like that.
[A]
[B] [F#] Not competition, but friendly competition.
It's like, oh, people from my state are making
cool music.
That makes me want to [D#] try and make [C#m] my music cool too [E] or try harder.
[C#m] [F#]
[E] All three of the tapes are [G#] different and then even the EP [C#] is different from the tapes.
So
I feel like it's a [G#] pretty good mesh [F#] of all the sounds that we've explored on each of
those releases.
I think it's a good statement, I guess, a good collection of what we've been
trying to [E] do over the past few years.
But also at the same time, we were kind of like a guitar band for the earlier [C#m] releases
and didn't really venture too far [D#] outside of that.
But we tried to explore some more
synthesizer-oriented territory on this one, some [C] popier kind of song structure as opposed
to just guitar riff after guitar riff.
There's plenty of riffs though.
Don't get us wrong.
[C#] [F#]
[D] When we're in the studio, we have more at our disposal.
We can fill [C#] the energy space
[D] through just adding different instruments or just different production styles.
[A] But when
you're putting that in the [G#] context of playing live with only five people on [B] stage, we're
a little bit limited with what we can do.
So we kind of have to fill that [D] space with
being energetic or just playing things a little differently.
Making it heavy.
[G] Making it heavy.
Rocking out.
Also, [Em] logistically, we're not Radiohead and can't bring a billion different instruments
[G] on tour.
So that's part of it as well.
We [D#m] just have a little van.
[C#m] [F#]
[C#m] We played at Northeastern University in [G#m] Boston, and one of the kids [A#] running, helping [E] set up
the stage [C#m] stuff was [G#m] just kind of hanging around for a bit and then was just like, [C#m]
I
just got to admit to you guys I'm such a huge [C#] fan.
And did this real gushy fanboy sort of thing.
That's cool.
But it was cool.
It was really sweet.
Yeah, I've never encountered sound people that actually like us.
Yeah.
But it was a student-run thing, which I guess makes sense.
But that was sweet.
It's
always nice when people come up and are like, yo, I listen to all your stuff.
Yeah, I like that.
That's cool.
Because it's like, whoa, that's still something that's kind of new to [D#] us.
So that's cool.
I mean, this is pretty normal, but the weirdest thing I still [D] think is taking photos [E] with
people.
It's only happened like four or five times, but I still think that's so weird.
What are you going to do [C#] with a photo of me?
[Em]
Not that [C#] we don't welcome it.
If you want to [F#] take photos with us, that's awesome.
We'd
[E] love to.
So [B] whoever's watching this and comes to a show, [C#m] don't feel discouraged.
Just know that I don't like it.
[Am] I'll take a photo with you.
[F] We have a big ass tour coming [C] up.
Big tour.
Big tour.
Going [F] to the UK, coming [Am] back here, doing a big tour [A] here, going all around the country.
And [F] then we're done.
We're done for a [Am] while.
Until September.
September is the summer.
And we're all going to try and write some more songs for our next record.
And I'm going
to try and get a [C] job and do yoga.
And you're going [F] to
what are you going to do?
I don't know.
[C] Try to eat a little healthier.
[F] Maybe start exercising.
[C] I really want a job.
I haven't had a [Am] job in so long.
Hire me.
[Dm] Please hire me.
Please.
[C] If [Em] anybody in New York sees this or Indiana, I need a job.
Thank
you.
