Welcome to Eric Blackman Music.
[Fm]
[Db] I'm so busy, [Ab] don't know what hit me, [Eb] but I'll be [Bbm] alright.
My head's [Ab] underwater, but [Eb] I'm breathing [Bbm] fire.
You're breathing [Ab] and I'm out of [Eb] my mind.
Hi, and welcome to How to Play All of Me by John Legend on acoustic guitar.
The guitar is tuned standard, EADGBE, and we have a [F] capo placed at the first fret.
You can learn the chords beforehand by going to Chord Tutorial number 158 on this channel.
First, let's go to the intro and verse [Eb] chords by [Fm] playing E minor, C,
[Db] [Ab] G, [Eb] and D.
And that's going to go something like [Fm] this.
[Db]
[Ab] [Eb]
[Fm] [Db]
[Ab] [Eb]
Now, for my own personal taste, I like to use a D suspended 2 slash F sharp for that last chord,
because it's just a bigger sounding chord.
And if you use that chord, [Fm] it'll sound something like this.
[Db]
[Ab] [Eb]
[Fm] Why would [Db] I do without your [Ab] smile?
Drawing [Eb] in and you kicking [Fm] me out.
You can make a choice on those chords based on how you'd like it to sound.
Next, we're going to go into a pre-chorus, and there's a chord melody that goes something [Bb] like this.
[Bbm]
[Ab]
[Eb] [Bbm]
[Ab]
[Eb] [Bbm]
We all rise, our heads under [Ab]
water, [Eb] but I'm breathing
[Bbm] fire.
You're [Ab] breathing out [Eb] out of a line.
In order [Ab] to save time in this tutorial, I put together a special tutorial just for that chord transition.
There's a link in the video and in the description that will take you to a tutorial that will show you how to play exactly what I played up close.
Alright, next is chorus 1, and it'll go something like this.
All of me loves [Fm] all of you.
Love your [Bbm] curves and all your edges.
All your [Db] imperfect [Eb] imperfections.
[Cm]
First, [Ab] we'll play a G chord twice.
Here's [Fm] our strumming pattern.
We're going to strum downward three strings, [Cm]
and then we're going to use our index finger to [Ab] strum upward.
And we'll do that twice for our G chord.
Next, we'll go [F] to E minor 9, and we're going to strum three strings.
[Cm]
Then we'll take the index [Ab] finger, strum upward twice, and then play the third fret on the high E string the second time we strum.
So it will [F] go like this.
[Fm]
It's [F] going to sound like this.
[Fm]
[Ab] Okay, so that was G, E [Fm] minor 9.
[Bbm] Then we'll go to A minor 9 and start at the A string and [Db] go
[Bbm]
[Db] Next, we'll go down to D7, suspended 4, [Db]
down and up, [Bb] and then D,
[Eb] strumming from the D string.
Like that.
So here's the whole [Ab] thing.
[Fm]
[Bbm]
[F] [Bbm] [Fm] [Bbm]
[Eb]
[E] And we will be doing that twice.
Next, we'll go to chorus 2.
And in chorus 2, we're going to strum each chord just once, the way we [F] strummed them previously.
E minor 7, [Ab] C add [Db] 9, [Ab] G, [B] D suspended 2, slash, [Gm] F sharp.
[Eb] [Fm]
[Db] [Ab]
[Eb] Then [Fm]
[Db]
[Ab] [Eb] [Fm]
[Ab] we'll [Eb]
go back into the [Fm] song.
[Db] [Ab]
[Eb]
Alright, and that's how we play All of Me by John Legend on acoustic guitar.
Thanks for stopping by, and [Ab] have a great day.
