[E] The most recent video on [D] the A1 video is actually a track called Same Old Brand New You.
Well we spent a lot of time in America this year so a lot of people actually thought that the Same Old Brand New You video was filmed in America.
It was!
And the video producers and directors did an amazing job in creating that effect.
In fact it was done [G] in a place called Dungeness.
Just behind where we were filming we actually managed not to get it in.
It was [Dm] one of the most beautiful [D] nuclear power stations I've ever seen in my whole life.
In the beginning of the video you actually see myself passing a big fierce looking spanner to Christian.
And I've [G] got to say the director of the video, [D] he said here's your spanner and he chucked it at me.
And I [C] caught it [G] just as like a reflex.
It was like, oh [D] it's rubber.
[C] [G] We went over [D] there for a wee.
And because it's [F#m] really really windy [C] we had to watch that [G] A.
we didn't wee on ourselves and B.
[D] we didn't wee on each other.
Tell [A] them why you decided to [G] want to work with A1.
Because I needed the money.
[D] Very classic car from [A] 1960.
[Em] And it was a bit of a wreck but the [G] guy restored it and made it look [D] absolutely beautiful.
Until we came along and made it look all [Em] dirty for the sake of [Gm] entertainment.
As [D] you can see I've got loads and loads of like oil [A] on my face [C] because I'm the token [G] hunky mechanic.
[D]
No, no I don't want two women rubbing me.
[A] Stop [C] it.
We wanted this [G] effect at the end of the video.
We wanted to be dancing in [B] the rain because there's parts of the dance routine where we sort of stamp our feet on the ground.
And we wanted to splash water everywhere and stuff like that.
[G]
[B] And we had this great plan.
[E] We had a rain machine coming in.
We're going to have rain, artificial rain [G] come in.
[G#m] And we had a computer that was going to make like big clouds and make it [E] really stormy weather and stuff.
[A] But it's actually quite cold and there's really really [G] like loads of wind.
[B] And we're actually getting buckets [C#] of water chucked over us so [D] that we look wet while we're doing the dance [E] routine.
So it's not going to be [Bm] cold.
Black call this the rain effect.
[F#] I like to call it [G] the storm effect.
The storm and rain effect.
[D] An even better name, what can I say?
And just [Em] when we were about to film the rain scene, [G] it started raining.
[D] And it started raining a lot.
It's quite tough because your clothes get really heavy.
[G] And you've got to do the dance routines and you slip around all over the place.
And [D] the rain's trickling down your back.
But I'm [A] sure it's going to look [C] really good in the end.
[G] [B] And what we've been waiting for, here it is.
[F#m] Same old brand new you.
[B] Yeah!
[C#]
[F#] [D] [E]
[C#]
[G#]
[Gm] [G]
[Em]
[G] [F#]
[D] [B]
[Bm] [Em]
It's something I won't live to see.
[Bm] It seems so strange that sometimes fate can appear to be so real and turn out to be a fantasy.
[B] You're on the run from Moscow.
Say you're gonna leave that bomb.
Say you'll change, change [Em] your ways.
Never gonna [B] keep your promise.
And it's a simple game.
You know it doesn't [F#] turn me on.
Singing that same [Em] old song.
I [Bm] still won't [G] find me [F#] God.
[D] Why this other [A] day?
What can I [Em] say?
This [G] feels the same [D] old brand new you.
You break your promises [A] in two.
What can I [G] do?
When you're [Gm] the same old brand [D] new [B] you.
Because of you, [Bm] I guess we're [Em] through.
[G] Is this [Bm] the way it has to be?
I've been a fool, a fool [E] for you.
But [G] I've got better things to do [Bm] than let you walk all over me.
You're on the run from Moscow.
Say you're gonna leave that bomb.
Say you'll change, change your ways.
[Em] Never gonna keep [B] your promise.
And it's a simple game.
You know it doesn't turn [F#] me on.
Singing that same [Em] old song.
[G] I still won't find me [F#] God.
[D] Why [A] this other day?
What can [Em] I say?
[G] This feels the same old [D] brand new you.
You break your promises [A] in two.
What can [Em] I do?
[G] When you're [Gm] the same old brand [Bm] new you.
I can still remember the [F#] time you were there when I needed to [D] hold you.
[A] Feel you.
[C] Every time I ask you to [Em] fight.
You [Gm] lie in your way.
Is [G] it [F#] gonna [D] go, [B] go, go, go, go?
Say you're gonna leave that bomb.
Say you're gonna leave that bomb.
Say you'll change, change your ways.
Never gonna keep your promise.
And it's a simple game.
You know it doesn't turn [F#] me on.
[D#m] Singing that same [G] old song.
I still won't find me [Gm] God.
[D] Why this other [A]
day?
What [Em] can I say?
This feels [G] the same old [D] brand new you.
You break your promises [A] in two.
What can I [Em] do?
When [Gm] you're the [F#m] same [D] old brand new you.
