But this is a song that I wrote after attending my brother Jacob's Air Force basic training graduation.
It was a moving experience for me.
It was a very proud moment for me, watching my little brother graduate from the Air Force.
It inspired me to write [G] this song about him.
It's called A Hero in My Eyes.

[C] [F]
[C] I was always four years older.
[F] Growing up, I [C] made sure my little brother knew who was boss.
[G] I was tough to [C] the core.
Everything that I would do, he'd [F] always be one step [C] behind.
He said, one day I'll be just like you.
It's just a matter of time.
[F] He said, brother, you are my [Am] friend.
[C] That'll never change.
[F] We have a love that will never [C] end.
I hope it don't seem strange.
[Am] But you're bigger, faster, and stronger than [F] I.
[C] And you are a hero in my eyes.
[F] [C]
Those carefree childhood days flew [F] fast.
The years went faster still.
[C]
There's war and violence everywhere.
[G] People don't think twice to kill.
[C] My little brother said, it's time.
[F] I'll fight for our family.
[C] I think I had tears in [G] my eyes when [C] he turned to leave.
[F] And I said, brother, you are my [C] friend.
That'll never change.
[F] We have a love that will never end.
[C] I hope it don't [G] seem strange.
[Am] But now you're bigger, faster, and stronger [F] than I.
[C]
You are a hero in my eyes.
[Am]
Oh, I hope you [F] realize [C]
you are a hero in my eyes.
