I never wished any of this on [F] anyone or anything.
Aw, [Am] come on!
You gotta [G] try to look at things like [F] me.
I [C] never mean anything, I got.
I never keep [F] anything.
Yeah, I want to hide.
[Am] [G] Mostly things that will never

Then I think [Am] back.
[G] I [C] remember when I was off the country.
I [Am] remember sleeping [G] in your bed.
[C] Say goodbye to friends and family.
[Am] They could never [G] understand.
I [F] remember jumping [C] off of clifftops.
I [Am] remember playing with no [G] one there.
Yeah, I [C] knew if I could get successful.
The [Am] world changed who [G] I am.
Split up [F] bad.
[G] Split [C] up bad.
I wonder why I hide myself from [F] everyone.
From everything.
Man, [Am] come on.
Do [G] we last a day [F] at bay?
[C] Everyone loves me for [G] my [C] past.
But they always hate me in the present.
What can be [Am] done?
[G] Maybe somewhere in [C] the middle.
[F] It's in your [Am] heart's eyes you grow the [G] most.
I remember [F] when I first [C] saw the country.
I [Am] remember sleeping [G] in your bed.

There must be [C] something I can't [G] see.
So tell me.
[Am] Hold me up.
Help me [G] out.

You know, 30 to 50 people.

That's fucking awesome.
I remember driving all night until the sun came up.
And there's another show?
Let's go play that too.
I remember being stuck in the van.
On the highway, whenever it was 12 hours.
Oh my God, you froze.
12 hours in the van.
Someone was driving.
It wasn't on, no air conditioning.
Someone was driving.
We can't move.
I'm going to go in the median.
We got to get off here.
We get off at the exit.
We get off at the exit.
We see a Long John Silver.
I'm not fucking eating Long John Silver.
I'm like, okay, we'll just keep driving.
There was no fucking other restaurant open.
Wendy's.
99 cent menu.
I remember our brakes catching fire and smoking.
Tom did that to us.
Because we [Ab] used them so much on the mountain.
Do you remember the first [N]
time we all saw snow?
It was literally a patch on the side of the road.
We had never seen it.
We pulled over and it was going down a mountain.
It was the first patch of snow.
It wasn't even as big as this small room.
We were throwing at each other.
I still never seen snow from the city.
How about the first time you went over that bridge and saw New York [Eb] City?
Do you remember [Bb] that?
I remember yelling at [Ab] everyone and Josh getting mad at me for being [N] loud.
When we were driving through New York and we got there for the first time.
Me either.
I called my mom.
I was like, mom, I'm in Brooklyn right now.
I'll never get home.
I remember going to Ground Zero and calling my mom and being like, mom, I'm at Ground Zero.
It's so weird.
The first show we played in New York was at Amityville, right?
Amityville?
There's a pizza spot next door.
I was walking into this place.
There's this little kid walking towards me.
I opened the door for him.
I was holding the door for this little kid.
He's this big.
He's no more than 10 years old.
He goes, I'm walking in.
I was like, I'm just holding the door open for you.
It was funny.
The first time I ever talked to someone from New York was this little kid.
I also remember John driving over speed bumps in the Poughkeepsie parking lot.
Are we
[Bb] On [E] the end of this song, [Ab] are we doing any
Is it like the chorus?
Oh my God.
[B] I remember getting our trailer [A] stuck at Lowe's there.
It's a parking lot.
[N] You heard the story about Josh going through the bank teller thing to drop off money.
But he was pulling the trailer and the wheel well slammed into the side of the bank.
It was a big deal.
You know what happened after that?
He wouldn't go inside and talk to them, so me and [Ab] Jeremy had to go inside and talk to them.
Yes, and he [N] did it.
He's the one that did it, but he wouldn't go in and fix what he did.
Because he was nervous.
He was like, I don't want to get in trouble, man.
We're like, well, we have to talk to them.
We can't leave.
I was so pissed.
Oh my God.
I was sleeping in there when he did that.
I was sleeping in the van.
This really happened.
That's pretty literally, dude, sleeping in the van.
I woke up scared.
And then literally within two seconds of me waking up, sitting up, I'm looking out the front window.
I saw a fucking wrench or something fly through the front of the van.
It was a lawnmower blade for sure.
I woke up literally two seconds before, in a panic, knowing something was about to happen.
It was so weird.
Everybody ran over the van to check on me.
And bless their fucking heart, chased him.
Dude, Bobby was fucking going crazy.
I've never seen him run that fast.
You were in the bathroom, didn't you?
Yeah, he fucking went crazy and ran down the fucking street.
We left the van on.
Always.
Yeah, we slept with it in idle.
Everybody used to talk crap to us about doing it.
It wastes a lot of [B] gas, but it was awesome.
It wasn't a waste of gas because it was cheaper than [Ab] a hotel room.
I'll give you that.
Our van was [F] on for the first five [Bb] years.
[Gm] Just straight.
[Eb] When we were stopped, it was on.
And everyone was like, [B] you shouldn't leave your van on like that.
And we're like, why?
We've done it all.
We've [Bb] done it this long.
Who cares?
[N] And then it broke down.
And then a piston shot through the engine in California.
We had to get a new one.
No, it's like you hear [G] this here.

So tell me.
[Am] Hold me up.
Help me [G] out.
As I circle around, what [Am] makes me [F] happy?
_ _ Who is it, what [C] place did I can't [G] be?
Without [F] leaving.
_ _ [G] _ This is [C] _ my_ _ _ _ _ _
[Am] _ _ _ [G] _ _ I remember [F] when I first [C] saw the country.
I [Am] remember sleeping [G] in the van. _
[F] Say goodbye to [C] friends and family. _
[Am] They could never _ [G] understand.
They don't _
[F] understand.
_ [C] _ _ _ _ _
[A] _ _ _ [G] _ _ _ _ _
[F] I _ [C] _ _ _ _ _
[Am] _ _ _ [G] _ _ _ _ _
[F] _ [C] remember jumping off of _ clifftops.
I [Am] remember playing with [G] no one there.
Yeah, [F] I knew if I could [C] get successful. _
[Am] The world changed [G] who I _ am.
I remember [F] the coast of [C] _ _ California.
[Am] I remember trust [G] across the land.
[C] Now we've got too many _ idols.
The [Am] loop is [G] infinity, _ damn.
I [F] remember waking [C] up each morning.
I [Am] remember quitting [G] my lifestyle.
Yeah, [F] I knew if I could [C] get successful.
The [Am] world would change [G] who I was.
This is where I [F] fit.
_ _ _ [G] _ This is where I've [C] been. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ It _ _ _ _ _ was like, in a_
_ You know, 30 to 50 people.
_ _ [N] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ That's fucking awesome.
I remember driving all night until the sun came up.
And there's _ another show?
Let's go play that too.
I remember being stuck in the van.
On the highway, whenever it was _ 12 hours.
Oh my God, you froze.
12 hours in the van.
Someone was driving.
It wasn't on, no air conditioning.
Someone was driving.
We can't move. _
_ I'm going to go in the median.
We got to get off here.
We get off at the exit.
We get off at the exit.
We _ _ see a Long John Silver.
I'm not fucking eating Long John Silver.
I'm like, okay, we'll just keep driving.
There was no fucking other restaurant open.
Wendy's.
_ _ 99 cent menu.
I remember our brakes catching fire and smoking.
Tom did that to us.
Because we [Ab] used them so much on the mountain.
Do you remember the first [N] _ _
time we all saw snow?
It was literally a patch on the side of the road.
We had never seen it.
We pulled over and it was going down a mountain.
It was the first patch of snow.
It wasn't even as big as this small room.
We were throwing at each other.
I still never seen snow from the city. _
_ How about the first time you went over that bridge and saw New York [Eb] City?
Do you remember [Bb] that?
I remember yelling at [Ab] everyone and Josh getting mad at me for being [N] loud.
When we were driving through New York and we got there for the first time.
Me either.
I _ called my mom.
I was like, mom, I'm in Brooklyn right now.
I'll never get home.
I remember going to Ground Zero and calling my mom and being like, mom, I'm at Ground Zero.
It's so weird.
The first show we played in New York was at Amityville, right?
_ Amityville? _ _
_ There's a pizza spot next door.
I was walking into this place.
There's this little kid walking towards me.
I opened the door for him.
I was holding _ the door for this little kid.
_ _ He's this big.
He's no more than 10 years old.
He goes, I'm walking in.
I was like, _ I'm just holding the door open for you.
It was funny.
The first time I ever talked to someone from New York was this little kid.
I _ _ also remember John driving over speed bumps in the Poughkeepsie parking lot.
Are we_ _ _
_ [Bb] On [E] the end of this song, _ [Ab] are we doing any_
_ Is it like the chorus?
I was so pissed.
Oh my God. _ _ _
_ _ I was sleeping in there when he did that.
I was sleeping in the van.
This really happened. _
That's pretty literally, dude, sleeping in the van.
I woke up scared.
_ And then literally within two seconds of me waking up, sitting up, I'm looking out the front window.
I saw a fucking wrench or something fly through the front of the van.
It was a lawnmower blade for sure.
I woke up literally two seconds before, in a panic, _ knowing something was about to happen.
_ _ Always.
Who cares?
_ [N] And then it broke down.
And then a piston shot through the engine in California.
We had to get a new one. _ _ _ _
No, it's like you hear [G] this here. _ _ _ _
[Ab] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [B] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [N] _
