7. Life's Too Short (Outtake) - Frozen (OST) chords
Start Jamming...
As we were developing Frozen, one of the songs we knew we had to write was the song between Elsa and Anna,
at the end of which Elsa had to freeze Anna's heart with a blast of magic.
This first attempt was more confrontational than what ultimately ended up in the movie,
but we enjoyed going to that drama place.
In this version, Anna's solution to the problem is for Elsa to put the gloves back on,
and this is the thing that really sets Elsa off.
It's called Life's Too Short.
I [C]
[G]
came all this way [D] today to give us a fresh start
[F] But now that you're like, wow, it's all like, [Gm] warm in my heart
[G] I'm so glad you like it [D] sis, cause this is the real me
[F] You have no idea how great it feels to be free
[Ab] We've been falling [Eb] out for way too long
So [Bb] let's forget who's right, [Cm] and forget [F] who's wrong
[Ab] Okay, what did you say?
[Eb] There's room for family in [D] my court
[G] Cause life's [C] too short
You always [G] feel shut out and unloved by [Gm] the sister I long to [C] know
Life's [Eb] too short
To never [Bb] let you celebrate me, the [Cm] true queen of the ice [B] and fire
[Cm] [Bbm] I never thought, [Ab] but now [F] I do
[Ab] [Gm] Life's too [Fm] short
[Abm] To miss out on a sister [C] like you
[G] So you'll come back then?
To Thal, the field bird?
It's frozen over.
No one can get in or out.
Oh, so
I don't believe you.
What?
I just assumed that you would [G] have some
Then I'll shove on the gloves.
[D] That's how your story ends?
It [F] does.
It's just like it was, except for we'll be [G] best friends.
So that's been your plan to [D] force me back in your cage?
[F] Whoa, whoa!
Don't get upset.
Let's get back on the [G] same page.
[F] Gee, thanks for coming [Eb] up, see the [Bb] place
And showing off your [C] mastery of tact and grace Oh, [Ab] hey!
Run down the hill and [Eb] fill my secrets, make a full [D] report
[G] But wait!
Cause life's [Db] too short
There it is!
The door you [Eb] love to slam in my face
You [Gb] didn't well there for a spell, but now you're back in the [Ab] same place
[Db] Kick me out if you want, but [Eb] I'm the one who is [Gb] not 100% convinced the prophecy's [Ab] you
[E] You can think whatever you want, cause I don't care
[B] You're a fool who married a stranger
That is so unfair, [E] I swear
I'm through with taking your unshaking sisterly [Eb] suppose
[Ab] Life's [Db] too short to let you [Cm] treat the people down there
Just [Bbm] as coldly as you've always [A] treated me
Life's [E] too short to listen [Ebm] to a recluse
Who [Dbm] only ever sees the things she [C] wants to
[Ab] see
[Dbm] You [D] know how [A] many times I've [Gb] been through
[A] Because [Gb]
[A] [Abm] life's too short to [D] waste another
[A] [Abm] It's too [Gbm] short to [D] even have it
[A] [Abm] Life's too short
[D] I've been so wrong about you
You, you've been so wrong about everything
[A] Maybe you are the prophecy
I am not the prophecy!
[Db] [N]
