[G] So I can, I can write it.
So I can.
[Gm]
[E] I'm still in the program.
Yeah.
You [Bm] tear it all in.
It's going to take a [D] few lines to write.
I'm not going to be laughing, but.
Slow [Bm] fall.
Slow fall.
[D] It's [Db] over.
This is going to take [Bm] a while.
Oh, you're good.
I'm going to have to do it.
[Cm] And then I will.

[Dm] Half truths.
Finish my album was important, but for me it was like bigger than just a submission of some songs I made in my bedroom.
It is the book end to a large part of my life.
You know, things have been on my mind in some cases probably for too long.
And in the same way, moving to New York was amazing.
But really, it was me jumping out of my comfort zone for a while, leaving the people and places and culture that I had known my whole life behind.
Even just for a second.
[F] It wasn't really the live shows I played that were important, but [Dm] more so some of the things I learned while I was there.
[E] I realized I [F] wasn't taking myself into consideration.
I was playing [G] shows to please people and to entertain them and I forgot to make sure that I [F] enjoyed it.
That I got to feel something more than used afterwards.
And it was just a small shift of mindset, but I'm so much better for it.
It seems simple, but it took me a year and a half of touring to get it.
And it only really happened at the very end.
[Dm] But most importantly on tour, I saw [F] another artist in a similar position.
I won't say who it was, but I'd finished performing and went to see someone much bigger than [Dm] me.
And just before their set started, I saw them sitting down right beside the steps to their stage.
You know, moments before one of the most energetic performances I saw this summer.
And they were sitting, hood up and on their phone, you know, alone.
Honestly looking quite down or lost.
I didn't [Dm] talk to them, but weirdly it was a relief knowing that it wasn't just me.
That I wasn't the only one.
So I think I should tell you this.
This [Bb] album has been for me since I first started thinking about working on it.
[Dm] Years ago.
It has been a catalyst for change in [C] so many ways for me.
And it's taught me so much more about myself than I ever thought it would.
I made Vertigo by myself, for myself.
[Dm] But it's finished now.
So maybe it could be for you.
I have spread my dreams under your feet.
Tread softly.
