[F#] Hi, [C#] I'm Robert Renman from Dolphin Street.com
In today's lesson we're going to learn two short, but sweet blues licks that work well over a slower blues like this
[E]
[C#] All right, so let's take a closer look at the fretboard to see how we play these
[G] so first of all we're going to play a blues rhythm [F#] for one bar like [E] this and
[E] [N] Then the first lick will come in this way
I'll first start with a blues [E] rhythm and then play the lick
1, 2, 3
[Em]
[G] [E]
[C#] Okay, so starting here
on the E string going to the B string and
[B] Then we're doing five notes that are quite fast in succession
[C#] And what I'm doing there is I'm starting with the middle finger on the third fret on the G string sliding [B] up
B string
[B] open E string
back to B [D] string
and
[B] [A#]
[Bm] [B] they can all ring together, that's fine and
then at the end
[C#m]
Do a slide down here
[A] [G]
G string [E] and
Then back to the plain rhythm
Okay, let's do it slowly
1
[Bm]
[G] [E]
[C#]
Okay, [C] now the next lick is like [C#] this
Here on the G string on the fourth fret
[B]
[C#] sliding this note from below
Switch into the B string [C#m] and then do a bend [D#m] here a half step bend [C#m] and then back to
[F#]
[C#m]
[B] [C#] [C#m]
[F#] [F#] [C#]
And add a little bit of vibrato at the end that sounds nice and rich
Okay
All right, so let's try it from the beginning at the slower tempo.
