[G] [G] Alright, [N] a little bit of a three-hole jam.
So what's the point of this exercise?
Why work this?
I've talked about it before on YouTube.
Well, the first three holes of your harmonica contain so many different notes.
And because of the availability of all of these half-step bends, especially in the two
and the three-hole, there's a lot of expressiveness going on around the bottom of the harmonica.
Plus you have the chords in this second position playing the C [C] and the G chord.
[G] So when you add all that up, it's a great exercise to be able to extract as much as
you can out of the bottom end of the harmonica.
So that's what I was working on, and I think it's a great practice [N] for any aspiring diatonic
player to just limit the holes that you work with in practice and see what's really going
on, how many different types of phrasings you can get, and how many riffs you can find.
And you might find that if you're stuck in some areas, that by default, what are the
notes that you're not using on specific chord changes?
Those are the kind of lessons that you can learn from these types of exercises.
A quick mention that I released an email recently.
If you're not on my email list and you didn't get the heads up, I will make that announcement right now.
I'm offering a pretty big giveaway, a contest for anybody who has signed up for the Global
Blues Harmonica Summit.
And yes, that is a requirement of the contest.
It's for those that are joining the summit.
It's a giveaway for that actual event.
Now let me make this clear.
I do give away a lot of free things without requiring any purchase or any sign up to any events.
In fact, I'd say the vast majority of everything I've ever done and given away through my YouTube
channel has been in that manner.
So I'll continue to do that.
This just happens to be a promotion that I'm doing for the Global Blues Harmonica Summit,
and it's for those that are attending the event.
And of course, I'm trying to encourage folks to sign up for it.
So I'm giving away
If you didn't see this, I'm giving away 12 months of free harmonica lessons, a full year
to one person, including a free [B] Hohner [Ab] harmonica, [B] including my phone number so [N] you can text
message me, and maybe one other giveaway in that.
So how can you be signed up for that?
You just simply join, sign up for the Global Blues Harmonica Summit, and then over the
course of the event, I will draw a winner for that prize.
And again, all you need to do to qualify is be signed up for the event.
If you can't sign up, or financially it's just not something you can do, and you're
like, this is a bummer, I wish I could have a chance to win those free lessons, don't
worry, there will be plenty of other giveaways and contests that are going to be awesome.
So check it out, coming soon.
I'm going to leave you with a little more three-hole practice, a little 30-second [G] outro.
