[F#m] I ain't saying you're [D] afraid this is [A] the [Bm] end, but [F#m] don't be so [D] sure.
[F#] [D] So yeah, this album is called New Medicine [A]
because, [F#] I don't know, I feel like music has
a kind of a pharmaceutical [A] grade [E] therapeutic effect, or [F#m] at least it can.
Here [A] comes love, ready or not.
Here [E] comes love [F#m] again.
And [A] again and again and again.
[E]
[A] And it can [E] just be this incredibly powerful healing [F#m] thing.
And I've had [B] people come up to me, and a lot of my friends [D] who are musicians have as well,
come up to [A] me and say, you know, this [Bm] song got me through one of the darkest times of
my life, [G#] which [F#m] means the world to me because I have [A] those songs that have gotten [E] me through
difficult times in my life, or even entire albums [D] that have become kind [Bm] of almost like
a soundtrack for a season of life.
[Em] And so [G] that's where the name New Medicine comes from.
I did quite a bit of writing for this record in a cabin in the woods, which was incredibly
powerful, kind of heading out into the wilderness [D] and unplugging from no internet, [A] no TV, no
radio, no [D] phone, no sound of any kind.
[G] And that becomes more and more of a contrast from [Em] everyday life, I guess.
[E] And I try to cover up all the clocks [G] and just lose track of time and really dive into the
songs and write from [Bm] that place.
It's very [G] creepy at night, by the way, as a side note, but totally worth it.
I'm really excited to [E] be partnering with Pledge Music to give people a chance [F#] to be a part
of the making of this record and the releasing of this record.
Basically by pre-ordering the album, people can get access to exclusive content, [E] never
heard before songs, [D] acoustic versions of songs from the record, video that we've kind of
been shooting along the way of the making [B] of the record.
And they can actually [F#] get the record two weeks before [E] it comes out, before it's available
to the public.
[A] And then there's a lot of fun stuff that people [F#] can pledge [B] for, like handwritten lyrics to
their favorite [E] songs, or they can dedicate a song to someone for their anniversary or
birthday or something like that.
It's just a really fun way for people to be involved in the process and also to make it
possible for us to release this independently.
[B] And so if you just scroll down and check out [E] the options below, [E] it's all there.
And thank you so much for being involved.
