Hey Guitar Buddies, great song from the Cure [G] there, In Between Days.
So on the intro I started with an [A] A and I'm going to a D major 9.
So not D9 but D major 9 because the 7th note is major.
So I'm playing open D, A, the 5th, C sharp, the 7th, major 7th and E, the 9th note.
So there's no 3rd and it's simply a case of taking your first finger off the A chord.
[A]
[D]
And then the first continues in much the same way.
[A]
So I'm playing that A chord to start with and this time just adding [G] a sus 4 with my
little finger on 3 on [A] the B string and then D major 9 chord.
So
[Bm] [E]
[Bm] [E]
for that section I'm just going [Bm] between a B minor chord [E] and an E twice.
[Bm] B minor, [E] E twice and then back [A] into.
[G]
Ok and that's all the chords you need for the entire song.
And at the end of the song, the song [A] doesn't end on A [Bm] like the tonic, it [A] ends on the D9.
So at [D] the very end of the song it just hangs on that chord to finish.
But that's the [B] chords you need, they're all contained in the intro that I played through
for the entire song.
So let's take a look at those lead parts.
I'm in the key of A major and I'm starting on A on 2 on the 2nd fret of the G string.
[G#] So G sharp on [E] 1, then E on 2 on the [A] D string.
[E]
[C#]
And the 2nd time I go up instead [E] of going down.
So I go A, A, A, [B] A on B on 4 on the G string to C sharp on [C#] 2.
Then I play the first [B] phrase again [E] and just play [C] that E once that [A] time.
[D]
[A] And [E] then I'm going [D] to 3, D, [C#] to C [Am] sharp, [D] to A.
[A]
So 3, 3, 3, [D] 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, [Am] 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2, and [E] 1, 2 on the G sharp to [D] E.
[Am]
So that's that intro section and then over the chords [A] when it picks up over those [G] chords
we played I'm playing
[D#] [A]
[C#] [A] [E]
I'm just going from C sharp on 2, [D#]
so, [G] to D on 3 on the B [D#] string, [G] back to C [C#] sharp.
So I'm just picking [G] up, just using alternate picking.
[C#]
[G#] So I'm going to go back to the G string and then back to 2 on the G [D#] string, A.
[Bm] [C#m] [A]
[D] [C#] And [A]
[F#] that plays over those chords and [A] A to the D major [Bm] 9 chord.
And then when we go to the B minor chord we've [C#] [B] got
[E]
[F#] [C#]
So I've got
I'm playing [D] C sharp on 2, B on 4, so [D#] 2 on the B string, 4 on the G string.
[F#] Then F [Bm] sharp on 4 on the D [E] string to E on 2.
[B]
[E] And then 2 F [F#] sharps on 4, [B] back to 2, back to 4, E to F sharp.
[C#]
[Em] And then just repeating that, a couple of [G] extra notes at the start.
[D#] And again B, F sharp, [Em] E, [F#] F sharp, F sharp.
And then [B] I added the little keyboard bit.
[F#] So I'm just playing B [B] to C sharp on 12 to 9 on the B and E strings.
Then E to D, 12 to 10 on the E string.
[F#]
Back to B to C sharp [Am] and then 2 As on [B] 10 on the B string.
And then repeat that.
[Am] [G] OK and then we're back into the rest of the song.
So that's all the bits you need to play the song.
It's a great tune and a really good fun one to play.
So enjoy the Cure and In Between Days.
And thanks for watching buddies.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ So I'm playing that A chord to start with and _ this time just adding [G] a sus 4 with my
little finger on 3 on [A] the B string and _ _ _ _ then _ _ _ _ _ _ _
D major 9 chord.
So _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Bm] _ _ _ _ [E] _
_ _ [Bm] _ _ _ _ [E] _ _
_ for that section I'm just going [Bm] between a B minor chord [E] and an E twice.
[Bm] B minor, _ [E] E twice and then back [A] into. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [G]
Ok and that's all the chords you need for the entire song.
And at the end of the song, the song [A] doesn't end on A [Bm] like the tonic, it [A] ends on the D9.
So at _ _ _ _ _ _ [D] the very end of the song it just hangs on that chord to finish.

So let's take a look at those lead parts.
I'm in the key of A major and I'm starting on A on 2 on the 2nd fret of the G string. _ _
_ [G#] _ So G sharp on [E] 1, then E on 2 on the [A] D string.
_ _ [E] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [C#] _ _
_ _ And the 2nd time I go up instead [E] of going down.
So I go A, A, A, [B] A on B _ on 4 on the G string to C sharp on [C#] 2. _
_ _ _ Then I play the first [B] phrase again _ _ [E] _ _ _ and just play [C] that E once that [A] time.
_ _ _ _ [D] _ _
[A] _ And [E] then I'm going [D] to 3, D, _ _ [C#] to C [Am] sharp, [D] to A.
_ _ _ _ _ _ [A] _
So 3, 3, 3, [D] 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, [Am] 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2, and [E] 1, 2 on the G sharp to [D] E. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [Am] _ _
_ _ _ _ So that's that intro section and then over the chords [A] when it picks up over those _ _ _ [G] chords
we played I'm _ playing_
[D#] _ _ [A] _ _ _
_ [C#] _ _ _ _ [A] _ _ [E]
I'm just going from C sharp on 2, _ _ [D#] _
so, _ _ [G] _ to D on 3 on the B [D#] string, _ [G] _ _ back to C [C#] sharp.
_ _ So I'm just picking [G] up, _ just using alternate picking.
[C#] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [G#] So I'm going to go back to the G string and then back to 2 on the G [D#] string, A.
_ _ [Bm] _ _ _ [C#m] _ _ [A] _
_ _ _ [D] _ _ [C#] And [A] _
_ _ [F#] that plays over those chords and [A] A _ to the D major [Bm] 9 chord.
And then when we go to the B minor chord we've [C#] _ _ [B] got_
[E] _
_ [F#] _ _ [C#] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ So I've _ got_
_ _ _ I'm playing [D] C sharp on 2, _ B on 4, so [D#] 2 on the B string, 4 on the G string.
_ [F#] _ Then F [Bm] sharp on 4 on the D [E] string to E on 2.
[B] _
_ [E] _ _ And then 2 F [F#] sharps _ on 4, [B] back to 2, back to 4, E to F sharp.
_ _ _ _ [C#] _ _
_ _ [Em] _ And then just repeating that, a couple of [G] extra notes at the start.
[D#] _ _ And again B, F sharp, _ _ _ [Em] E, [F#] F sharp, F sharp.
And then [B] I added the little keyboard bit.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [F#] _ So I'm just playing B [B] to C sharp _ on 12 to 9 on the B and E strings. _
_ _ _ _ _ Then E to D, 12 to 10 on the E string. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [F#]
Back to B to C sharp [Am] _ _ and then 2 As on [B] 10 on the B string.
And then repeat that. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [Am] _ _ _ _ [G] OK and then we're back into the rest of the song.
So that's all the bits you need to play the song.
It's a great tune and a really good fun one to play.
So enjoy the Cure and In Between Days.
And thanks for watching buddies. _ _
