🎹 How to play "FREEDOM" by Eddie James (easy gospel piano tutorial) chords
Start Jamming...
Hello Piano Clubhouse, this is Jermaine and today we'll be playing Freedom by Eddie James.
[E] All right.
This song is in E natural.
All right.
So you have an E natural chord, scale.
All right.
So this song has a contemporary Christian feel to it.
So you'll
hear the numbers 1, 5, 6, 4.
That's kind of the number system where we have
the root is 1 and you just count up 1, E,
[F#] 2, 3, 4, 5, [D#] 6, 7, [E] 8, and 1.
All right.
So this is the 1, [B] 5, [C#] 6, [A] 4.
All right.
1, 2, 3, 4.
[B] 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
So 1, 5, [A] 6, 4.
Okay, and [E] that's the bass.
That's what the bass note plays.
It plays E,
[B] B, [C#]
C sharp, [A] A.
All right.
[E] So the first chord we have in our left hand, [B] E and a B.
And in our [E] right hand, we have our E natural chord, E, G sharp and B.
[B] Second chord.
So we have left hand, we have B, D sharp, F sharp.
Right hand, we have D sharp, F sharp, B.
[C#m] Next chord, [C#]
we have C sharp,
[F#] G sharp, B.
[E]
In our left hand, we have an E chord, E, G sharp, [C#m] B.
Last [A] chord.
It's going to be an A natural chord in both hands.
Our left hand is playing an A, C sharp, E.
Right hand is playing [C#m] C [A] sharp, E, A.
All right.
So we [E] have
[B]
[C#m] [A] [E]
[B] And that's [C#m] pretty much what you [A] do throughout the rest of [E] the song.
[B] [C#m]
[A] You're playing the [E] 1 to [B] the 5 [C#m] to the 6 [A] to the 4.
All right.
[E] Once you learn the chords, the 1, 5, [C#m] 6 [A] and the 4,
once you have those chords, [E] in the song, they use them with a different rhythm.
So at the beginning, you'll be playing in the intro,
[C#m] [A]
you'll be [E] playing at this tempo [B] with this rhythm.
[C#m]
And [A] then when the verse comes in, [A#] they break on the 1,
[A] then they start on the 1 [E] again.
[A] All [E] right.
So they break [F#] and they say something [E] and then that first chord,
E, B, E, G sharp and the B.
All right.
The [B] same [A] four chords, [B]
[A] but they're with [E] a different rhythm.
Instead of the long [B] note, [C#m] then when the verse comes [E] in, break,
and then they start over and do it faster.
[C#m] [A] All right.
And then later on in the song, [F#] there at [E] the vamp or at [B] the end of the [C#m] song,
[A] they just put [E] some stabs in there with the same [C#m] chords,
[A]
just a different [E] rhythm.
[B] [C#m]
[A] All right.
[E] So once you learn the four chords, you can play the whole song.
You just have to listen to what part they're going [Fm] to
because the rhythm will change up on the chords.
All right.
That's how you play Freedom by Eddie James in E-Natural.
Thanks for watching.
