Hello, here's a tutorial for The Doors, People Are Strange.
I'm Hughie Miles again and so here it is.
Alright, I'll just play it once slowly first, the intro anyway.
[Em]
[E] [Em] [A] [Em]
So [Em] basically the chords in this song are E [Am] minor and A minor, [B] a B7 [G] and a G.
Four chords, [Abm] alright.
So the intro is basically [Em] around the E minor, A minor, E minor, A minor, E minor, [B] [Em] B7 and E minor.
But you're just going to be plucking individual [Abm] strings there.
So to start with, it starts [G]
A [B] string on the [B] second fret, [A] then open fifth string,
[G] fret on the sixth [E] string, then open sixth string, [Em]
and then [Abm] fret on E minor.
[G] Basically with the intro you're going to be going on the E minor and then moving down a set of [Abm] strings and then back up.
So [E] sixth, fifth, fourth, sixth, [Em] fifth, fourth, third.
So back to the third.
So first part of that, and then on the fifth just run straight down from the second to the [B] first and then open.
[A]
And then when you hit the open fifth, [Abm] just move that formation down and [A] play the fourth, sorry, fifth, fourth, third.
[G] And then you're going to open the third, so when you [Abm] lift your fingers off there, when you play the open third, move it back up to the E minor.
[Em] And you'll do [B] that twice.
[A] [Em]
[A] [Em] [A]
[Em] [A] [Em]
So I'll just do that [Abm] bit once more slowly.
[E] [Em]
[A] [Em] [A]
[Em] Alright, you [Abm] with me?
Just going up and down, up and down.
And then, so, [E]
[Abm] you basically, that part here you're just playing an open [E] E, first, [Gb] second, [Gm] and then [Abm] fret what would, like an E is like that,
just move it up a set of strings and you'll get [B] this.
So [G] like you're playing an E, one [Gb] set of strings up, [B]
[Abm] and [Em] then E minor.
[E] So, once more slowly.
[Em] [E]
[Em] [A] [Em]
[B] [Em] And then the same as the [E] intro again.
Instead [G] of just, instead of, ah, the rhythm [E] is slightly different.
That's where it's, the intro is just, [Em]
[A]
[Em] can you do that again?
[E] [Em]
[Gb] [E] Alright?
Then the [G] little chorus bit is the [Abm] easiest part.
B7. [B] B7.
To G.
[G] Back to B7.
To G.
B7.
Sit on the B7.
And the same as the intro again.
[A]
[Gbm] [E] And then for the second chorus, [Em] just play the straight chords.
E minor.
[Am] A minor.
[Em] E minor.
B7.
E minor.
[Am]
[Em] And then the [B] same again with B7, except don't go to the [Em] G tone this time, just between the B7 and the E minor.
[B]
[Em] And then you've got it.
B7.
To [G] G.
[B] [Ab] Easy, huh?
So it's just the intro is the [Abm] hard, well, the tricky part.
The rest of it is pretty simple.
So, just one more time very quickly while we've got some [B] time.
[G] So the, that would be like as if you were playing a G.
[Em] Really.
[B] So, open fifth on [A] the second, open [G] fifth, [Em] six on the third, open third.
E minor formation.
Sixth, fifth, fourth, third, fourth.
Fifth.
[B]
[Am] [Abm] Running down on the fifth.
[A] Move the E minor [E] down [Am] two strings.
Fifth, fourth, [A] third.
Lift [G] and open third.
[E] Make your E minor again.
Play the third, sorry, fourth.
[Am] Twice.
[Em]
Open sixth.
[Gb] First and second fret.
[B] Sixth.
Fourth.
[Em] E minor.
[E]
[Em] [A] [Em]
[B] [E] Went all over the place didn't I with that?
[G] But, I think that's enough for you.
